Whole Wheat Naan
I got bored of eating Idly, Dosa and Roti for dinner, So I decided to make Naan tonight. It came out super soft and fluffy. And my son who is an Idly rasigan gave thumbs up.
Serving Size : 2-3 People
Cooking Time : 30 minutes
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour - 2 Cups
Yogurt/ Curd - 2 Tbsp
Oil - 1 Tbsp
Salt - as needed
Sugar - 3/4 Tbsp
Baking Powder - 1 Tsp
Steps:
1. Mix all the ingredients one by one in a bowl. Add a cup of water and Knead it to a dough. Cover with a wet cotton cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes. The dough will raise a bit and will be super soft and fluffy.
2. Make equal balls out of it.
3. Roll it to an oblong shape. Brush water on top side. In the meantime, heat the pan (Please use iron skillet, no Non stick as it won't work!) to high flame and grease it with oil. Place the water coated side to the bottom of the pan. Once you see bubbles raising on top, lift and turn the skillet upside down directly to the flame for 10 sec (the naan should be sticking to the pan). Turn the Skillet and Naan is ready, you can take it out with a Spatula.
In case, if you don't have an iron skillet, do the same procedure instead of turning the skillet upside down, once you start seeing bubbles on top take the naan out with a tong and place the uncooked side on the direct flame. Leave it for few seconds and your Naan is ready to serve.
